Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini National Initiative against Normalization with the Zionist Enemy called on "the authorities to release prominent dissident and former secretary-general of Wa'ad Ibrahim Sharif."

The initiative said in a statement on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, that "the arrest of Sharif, a defender of the Palestinian people, and his detention pending investigation over expressing these stances mentioned in the initiative's statement is a confiscation of the legitimate right of every Bahraini citizen." 

It stressed that "the expression of these stances by any force or national figure is an inherent right that falls within the framework of the freedom to express an opinion on issues related to public affairs, which is guaranteed by the constitution."

The initiative reiterated its call to the government of Bahrain to cancel the normalization agreement with the Zionist enemy and expel its ambassador from Bahrain, renewing its rejection of "Bahrain's joining a military alliance consisting of several countries aimed at protecting Zionist interests."
