Bahrain Mirror: The Saudi Embassy in Bahrain said that there will be a unified checkpoint between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain on the King Fahd connected bridge a year from now.
Saudi ambassador to Bahrain Abdullah Al al-Sheikh clarified that work is underway in both islands to implement the unified point system between the Saudi and Bahraini sides.
Al al-Sheikh added that the work will be done within a year or a year and a half from now.
It's noteworthy that the point will be unified between both sides; one for leaving and one for return. This meaning that the Saudi passport checkpoints will be canceled if going to Bahrain, and it will only be under Bahraini passports checkpoint. On the Saudi level, to enter Saudi Arabia, the Bahraini passport checkpoints will be canceled, and there would be only one checkpoint for Saudi passport examination.
This electronic link proposal targets facilitating crossing the borders for Gulf citizens only, and does not give privileges for any residents of foreigners.
