Bahrain Mirror: Former Vice Chair of the National Intelligence Council (NIC), Ellen Laipson, believed that there is a US trend under the new administration to change the policy toward Iran. She called on discussing with Iran the files it likes to participate in, among which is water scarcity in the Middle East.
Laipson's statement came during a symposium organized by "Sky News Arabic" on the sidelines of the regional security forum, "Manama Dialogue", and in the presence of Iraqi Vice-President and former Prime Minister Ayad Allawi, former Director of the Central Intelligence Agency David Petraeus, the former head of Saudi intelligence, Prince Turki al-Faisal.
The former NIC official indicated the importance of not exaggerating everything that Iran does, or [exaggerating] threats launched at the countries of the region, while it is necessary to focus on some files, in which Iran wants to participate.
