Member of the Bahraini Special Investigation Unit, Ibrahim Al-Kuwari, said that the unit received during October 14 complaints, including 7 allegations of torture and 6 claims of mistreatment by security forces. The unit has started investigations into all the complaints.

The High Criminal Court adounred the trial of al-Wefaq’s figure Sheikh Hassan Isa, who is accused of funding a “terrorist group”.

The First High Criminal Court upheld a 3-year imprisonment sentence against a teacher and a cleric, on charges of accommodating 3 wanted convicts.

The Bahrain Forum for Human Rights considered the charges addressed against prominent Shiite cleric, Sheikh Hani al-Bana’ “vexatious, and come in the context of consolidating the sectarian persecution status, and political revenge against the Muslim Shiite scholars in Bahrain.”

The Bahraini Fourth High Criminal Court handed down 5-year jail term to 8 suspects and 2-year jail term to 5 others over arson and assembly in Buri.

Bahrain’s Public Prosecution decided on Monday (October 31, 2016) to detain the prominent Shiite cleric Sheikh Hani Al-Banaa for 15 days after accusing him of inciting hatred against the regime and disobedience of law.

Social media accounts that have close ties with the authorities said that Saleh Al-Khanna submitted a complaint against Sheikh Hussein Al-Daihi over "his speech in Ashura that included inciting hatred against the regime, stirring up sectarianism and sectarian discrimination among people.
