Bahrain Mirror: Baqer Darwish, the head of the Bahrain Forum for Human Rights (BFHR), stressed "the need to start taking confidence-building measures, including the whitening of prisons (i.e. the release of political prisoners) to correct the course" in Bahrain.
Darwish, in a post on the formerly Twitter "X" platform on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, emphasized that "there is no alternative to comprehensive political, and human rights reform and a genuine shift towards transitional justice can only take place when a reform stage for solving all the existing problems in the political relationship between the government and the people begins."
He warned that "without addressing the root causes, all freedoms will remain threatened with violations."
