Bahrain Mirror: The correspondent of the "60 Minutes" program on the CBS Channel, Norah O'Donnell, said that the "US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain safeguards American interests in Middle East waters, including the Red Sea," where what she dubbed "Houthi terrorists" [the Yemeni armed forces] continue to target Israeli commercial vessels."
The correspondent presented a report from the headquarters of the Fifth Fleet in Bahrain, where she visited its secret operations center and spoke to Vice Admiral Brad Cooper, the top senior naval officer in the Middle East, who, in turn, described the fleet as "the nerve center of US naval operations throughout the Middle East."
Cooper showed the correspondent on one of the screens the damage recently caused by a missile launched by the Houthis (the Yemeni armed forces) to an American warship.
"This is the longest time the US Navy has operated in the region since World War II," Cooper said.
