Bahrain Mirror: Al-Wefaq Deputy Secretary-General, Sheikh Hussein Al-Daihi, confirmed that "the blood of the martyrs Abbas Al-Samie, Sami Mushaima and Ali Al-Singace, which was shed unjustly and aggressively, is the torch that lightens our path towards justice, and it is the memory that pushes us to continue the struggle."
Sheikh Al-Daihi said, in a speech marking the anniversary of the execution of the three martyrs (the dawn martyrs): "We have seen with our own eyes how lives are taken by unjust decisions, how young people are executed simply for expressing their opinions, simply for dreaming of a better homeland," adding that "these are not just human rights violations, but rather crimes against humanity itself."
He recalled that “whoever fired the fatal bullets on the execution platform wanted this incident to be a story of a long death, after hours of anticipation and anxiety suffered by the families of the martyrs; as if he wanted to not only commit a crime of murder outside the framework of the law, but also cause intimidation of families and people.”
He continued, saying: "Three honorable citizens began their lives with dreams and hopes and ended up being executed, not for a crime they committed, but because they dared to dream of freedom and to speak out the word of truth."
He renewed his pledge not to forget the crime or remain silent about it, saying: "Forgetting is betrayal, and silence is surrender. We do not betray, and we do not surrender."
