Bahrain Mirror: The UAE authorities arrested the Bahraini YouTuber, Omar Farooq, for publishing a video on "TikTok" showing him while he was in the Emirate of Dubai to celebrate New Year's and holding a banner which read: "New Year... I only wish that the massacre in Gaza Strip stops."
Farooq published a blog post on his account on his "X" platform in which he explained his goal behind posting this video, noting that "it took other turns and had to respond to it."
"The intention of my message is humanitarian, and its presence in front of the Burj Khalifa celebrations is with the intention of linking it to the New Year's wish. I chose the UAE because I was there," he explained, stressing that "there is no political aim behind it and the most important thing is that it has no offense to the UAE".
