Bahrain Mirror: Detained human rights defender Abdulhadi Al-Khawaja said that people should notice that their humanitarian, moral and religious responsibility requires them to defend the Palestinian people.
In a series of audio messages from his cell in Jaw Central Prison on the Palestinian issue, Al-Khawaja said: "15 or 18 years ago, we used to say that human rights defenders should not only defend people but teach them how to defend their rights, and this has had great results."
"I think this now is not only inaccurate, as people not only have to learn how to defend themselves, but they must consider that their human, moral and religious responsibility is to defend the rights of others, he noted. "If every human being around the world, whether in South America, Asia, Africa, feels that it is their responsibility to defend another human being, this will make a big difference."
He stressed that "If any people or human being experience what the Palestinian people is being subjected to, people will rush to defend them out of responsibility, not out of kindness."
