Bahrain Mirror: Sheikh Maytham Al-Salman demanded the release of former Wa'ad Secretary-General Ibrahim Sharif, who was arrested after posting tweets in solidarity with Gaza and Palestine, and his opposition to the maritime coalition that aims to protect the Israeli entity.
Al-Salman spoke during a symposium held on (Monday, December 25, 2023) at the Majlis of the late Sheikh Abdulamir Al-Jamri about "the double standards" of the Western countries in dealing with the Palestinian file, which have become clearly visible, stressing that international law considers resistance of occupation a legitimate right.
Sheikh Al-Salman also noted the invalidity of the argument of Western leaders of the right of the occupying entity to defend itself to justify their support for the crimes of genocide in Gaza, and their reliance on Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations, explaining that the article "does not allow the use of force for self-defense unless the armed attack occurs by another state."
