Bahrain Mirror: The security authorities arrested on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, former political prisoner Ali Haji, 39, after he reviewed the Ministry of Interior to complete the procedures for lifting the travel ban on him.
Haji went to the headquarters of the Interior Ministry in the capital, Manama, where he asked officials about the procedures, and they told him that he should go to the police station "Roundabout 17" to submit a request there. However, while reviewing them, officials at the police station told him that they had not received a request for the lifting of the travel ban and asked him to check with the ministry.
Haji went again to the Ministry of Interior, which refused to start the procedures for lifting the travel ban, thus, the former detainee told an employee in the ministry that he is forced to protest peacefully in front of its building to demand his right, which the employee considered a "threat" over which Haji was arrested.
A ministry officer investigated Haji and referred him to the Public Prosecution with a decision to detain him.
Haji's review came after the Public Prosecution issued a decision last week stating that he had completed his judicial rulings and had to review the Ministry of Interior to complete the procedures related to lifting the travel ban imposed on him.
