Bahrain Transparency Society Says Its Chairperson Met US Ambassador to Talk about Economic Affairs

Bahrain Mirror: The Bahrain Transparency Society said that its chairperson, Hussein Al-Rubai, met with the US ambassador at his home, being an economic researcher, and talked to him about the economic issue, without any prior agenda for the meeting. Al-Rubai was unaware of the people invited to the meeting.
It said in a statement (Tuesday, February 15, 2022), the society confirmed that its chairperson conversation with the ambassador addressed economic issues "and how to cooperate with institutions related to the United States of America and within the official frameworks in force in the Kingdom of Bahrain."
It also addressed the issue of public debt and the importance of working to reduce it, as well as the importance of implementing the National Audit Office recommendations due to its effective impact on preserving public money.
At the end of its statement, the society stressed its commitment to "the highest professional standards in dealing with local affairs and not being drawn into any political conflict."
