Bahrain Mirror: A number of MPs demanded during Tuesday's session (November 30, 2021) the release of more prisoners and detainees, and that releases include prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment.
MP Mamdouh Al-Saleh called that Bahrain witnesses larger releases on the upcoming national holidays under the Alternative Penal Code.
He said that we sincerely call on every official to have large numbers of beneficiaries of the Alternative Penal Code, stressing that the people are waiting for releases so that their houses get filled with joy.
MP Ahmed Al-Damistani also urged that the alternative punishments include convicts sentenced to 25 years in prison, especially if they are young, and that releases be expanded.
MP Yousif Zainal expressed support for these demands. Meanwhile, MP Ammar Al Abbas saw that the Alternative Penal Code is a relief for a large number of people whom we feel their suffering and their need to be among their families.
