Bahrain Mirror: The Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society stressed its readiness to "coordinate and communicate with opposition forces at the highest levels and organize a general national conference for the Bahraini political forces."
The announcement came in a press release in which the Society responded to Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim's appeal regarding the need to coordinate and unify the situation and get ready for what's to come.
Al-Wefaq addressed Ayatollah Qassim in its statement on Tuesday (September 21, 2021) saying he represents their history at all its turns, a witness in his stance and word. "You are the leader who would not have issued orders or prevented things, except on the basis of the integrity of religion and the world, the comfort of the people and the well-being of the nation. Wisdom, love, reform and the peace approach were his way to achieve justice and restore the right."
"Thus, we are under your command. You are the leader with whom we feel proud and guided. You were and are still the roadmap that leads your people to where they feel joy and your country to prosper. Our Sheikh, our guide and leader Isa bin Qassim has experienced you and so did the people before us, and we saw you as a compassionate father and a heart full of love for religion and the country, committed to unity, adhering to everything that serves the country, its progress and elevation and preserves its future and establishes a whole state on the path of justice and national consensus," the society stressed.
"We at Al-Wefaq, with its Secretary General, deputy, secretariat, consultants and general assembly, and all its cadres at home and abroad, look strongly forward and hope and have the steely, driving and firm will in the initiative, and move and work hard to achieve the aspirations of our people, and what contributes to achieving the desired political transformation that makes our country fair, stable, inclusive and secure."
Al-Wefaq further stated: "We put before us all the challenges, mainly the government's rejection of dialogue, insisting on the continuation of disagreement and lack of national consensus. We clearly feel the magnitude of resistance by reformers and powerful people in the face of the return to a healthy constitutional life and a sound political and legal situation. We will not surrender in front of all of this, and adopt in that the political values and demands contained in the speeches and statements of Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim, may God protect him."
The Society concluded their statement by saying: "We firmly and responsibly adopt your Eminence's call for coordination and joint action, and take responsibility with our brothers and beloved strugglers of the political and societal forces who look forward to building a just and democratic country in which everyone is equal in political rights among others. Hence, we emphasize working hard together on a project to coordinate and communicate with the opposition forces at the highest levels, as well as organizing a general national conference for Bahraini political forces."
