Bahrain Mirror: The Fourth High Criminal Court acquitted Hadeer Abadi and two other members of her family of charge of "transferring money to a terrorist group".
Abadi spent 6 months in prison before she was released on a bail. The court acquitted her on Tuesday (August 27, 2019), along with two members of her family, of the charges brought against them.
The case was built on information received by the interior ministry officer from "confidential sources" and confessions of the suspects that are usually extracted under torture.
The courts rarely acquit defendants in political cases. They rely on confessions extracted in investigation rooms affiliated with the interior ministry and do not consider any claims of extracting these confession under torture.
