Bahrain Mirror: The High Administrative Court upheld the decision of the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) to suspend a dentist from work for three months after the investigative committees found that he neglected following up on the case of a patient who filed a complaint against him after suffering complications.
The court said that the doctor's appeal against the authority's decision based on the fact that it lacked a dentist has no basis, adding that the committee's chairman is a dental consultant and the fact that he apologized or didn't attend the rest of the committee's meeting doesn't change anything.
The plaintiff filed his lawsuit explaining that he is a dentist. The patient went to the dentist to straighten her teeth and he told her about the treatment plan and she approved. However, she filed a complaint against him at the National Health Regulatory Authority, claiming that he failed to treat her teeth. The dentist was referred to the disciplinary committee for investigation, and a disciplinary decision was issued against him to suspend him from work for three months. The dentist appealed the decision, but his appeal was rejected.
