Bahrain Mirror: Former Al-Wefaq MP Ali Al-Aswad commented on the tax imposed on electricity and water saying that there is no horizon for solving problems, faced in the country, with old government.
He expressed on his Twitter account that "what is hidden is worst". He sarcastically said "after electricity, water and food, next taxes will be levied on air".
Al-Aswad stressed that no matter what the aids provided are (Bahrain receives support from neighboring countries), there are "hungry [greedy] mouths that got used to stealing public funds," adding that as the country "approaches lean years. There is no way to survive but with economic reforms."
He went on to say that "who thinks that the taxes will stop at 5% has to read recent history when the units of electricity prices and that of fuel were increased (in a continuous rate), despite the lie of the shale oil, the debts are increasing on Bahrain's shoulders and there is no horizon for solving problems with the old government appointed since 1971."
