198 Engineering Offices in Bahrain

Bahrain Mirror: A local newspaper reported according to Head of Engineering Profession Practice in Bahrain, Abdul Majeed Al-Qassam, that the number of authorized offices to practice engineering in Bahrain is 198.
Al-Ayyam daily said the council is considered the competent authority to authorize engineers and engineering offices.
Al-Qassab clarified that the council has 1985 engineers registered in the private sector, including engineering offices and companies, while 1800 engineers are registered in the governmental sector.
He noted that the council will conduct inspection visits to construction sites, and clarified that in the recent period he has already covered up to 11 sites, including the Seef and al-Hid Districts. Al-Qassab that he established the commitment of the company to working procedures during the inspections.
In this context, Al-Qassab also said that the Council referred 3 engineering offices to investigations during the first half of this year, due to the presence of violations. He also noted that one of the officers will be referred to the Public Prosecution.
He noted that violations are usually due to lack of commitment to contracts and requirements between the client and the engineering office, in addition to providing false documentations.
