Saudi Forces Continue Attack on Awamiyah Town, Fire Shells at Residents Houses

Bahrain Mirror: Saudi forces continued their military attack on the eastern town of Awamiyah, already launched at dawn Wednesday (May 10, 2017), claiming the lives of at least 3 martyrs and injuring dozens.
According to "Khabir" website, Saudi forces used heavy armed vehicles and helicopters in the attacks, while RPGs were fired at the houses in the besieged town. The cars of the town residents were burnt.
Information also reported that the forces arrested dozens, blocked roads in various areas, and fired live ammunitions randomly.
Saudi Arabia has launched its military movement against the ancient Awamiyah neighborhood, after authorities decided to demolish the whole area, and therefore display its residents.
International activists have called on the authorities to halt attacks and crimes committed by regime forces against the people of Awamiyah.
More than 30 thousand people live in the town of Awamiyah, the hometown of martyr Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr. Activists have reported that residents suffer food shortages, and that medical aid was deprived entry to the area.
