Court Upholds 5-Year Jail Term against Suspect over Arson, Assembly and Hoax Bomb

Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini High Criminal Court upheld in absentia a 5-year jail term against a Bahraini national (24 years old) over taking part in an assembly and setting fire to tires in Al-Khamis village.
The Public prosecution claims that on January 29, 2015, the defendant, along with other unknown suspects, deliberately set fire to movable properties on a main street, endangering people's lives and properties, taking part, along with other unknown suspects, in an assembly of more than 5 persons, aiming at disrupting public peace and planting a hoax bomb for terrorist purposes.
The suspect, along with others, burned tires in Sheikh Salman Street in Al-Khamis village, planted a hoax bomb and fled the scene, said the authorities, adding that documents show that the police headed to the site and assigned experts to identify the fingerprints, which matched that of the suspect's.
