Bahrain Mirror: The Tolerance and Pluralism Department of Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society said that it recorded 3,000 materials in 2015 that instigate hatred, noting that these materials were published in local media or social media outlets by well-known figures.
Head of the department, Ramla Abdulhamid, said that the department followed a scientific approach in monitoring the documented speeches, pursuant to Articles 18, 19 and 20 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
Abdulhamid further called for "committing to an inclusive and national speech that respects everyone and is free of sectarianism and hatred," pointing out that the department "stems from the Anti-Hatred Declaration issued by the democratic national opposition societies [...] to spread anti-hatred and tolerance principles."
