Bahrain Mirror: A Bahraini court sentenced a policeman (29 years old) and a inmate (40 years old) at the Reform and Rehabilitation Center (Jaw Prison) to 3 years in prison after convicting them of bribery and smuggling banned items (Viagra and nuts) into the prison, based on the inmate's promise to the policeman to help transfer him to a different administration and bring the rest of his family members to settle with him in the country. The court also fined the policeman a sum equals to the bribery; i.e. 200 BD.

Bahrain's Fifth High Criminal Court, presided over by judge Abdullah Al-Ashraf with the memberships of judges Mohsen Mabrouk and Motaz Abu Al-Ezz and Abdullah Mohammad as secretariat, sentenced the inmate's brother (38 years old) to one year in prison for taking part in the incident and ordered the confiscation of seized items.

One of the detainees in Jaw Prison promised a policeman, who is uncomfortable in his job, to help transfer him to a job under another administration in the Ministry of Interior, in return for getting him smartphones, nuts and Viagra pills as well as bringing his family to settle with him in the country. The policeman met the demands of the prisoner and contacted the prisoner's brother who offered him 200 BD, and gave him a number of phones and other things including nuts and Viagra pills.
