Lulwa Al Khalifa said in a tweet on her Twitter account: "What an evening of omens and severing of Iranian ties! Waiting to celebrate replacing Bahrain's Ministers of Iranian origin with pure Arabs!" These statements come amid a continued policy of turning a blind eye to the authorities' increasingly sectarian and racist discourse after the crackdown on the 2011 popular uprising.

In response to some comments, Lulwa Al Khalifa said: "Whenever one of these villainous people is appointed as a minister, he brings his group around him and eliminates the existence of any Arab. Is there anyone who has learned from this?"
