EU Representative for HR: Releasing Nabeel Rajab is an Important Step

Bahrain Mirror: The European Union Special Representative for Human Rights, Stavros Lambrinidis, said that the pardon of Nabeel Rajab by Bahrain King is an "important step".
On his Twitter account, he said that "the step of releasing Rajab comes in line with repeated European Union calls, including during my recent visit to country."

It is noteworthy that Lambrinidis has already criticized the Bahraini government for arresting, prominent human rights defender, Nabeel Rajab. He considered that the measures taken against Rajab, "threaten national reconciliation".
Lambrinidis paid a "human rights" visit to Bahrain, during which he met with representatives of the government and Judiciary, as well as members of the parliament, human rights defenders, political opposition societies and civil society organizations.
